Apache Charters highly recommends our Shark Bay Charters departing From Denham

Its only a 3 hour steam from Denham to the best fishing grounds in WA, we don't actually fish in Shark bay, we fish in the Indian Ocean around Dirk Hartog Island, from False Entrance, Steep Point, South Passage and even up to Turtle Bay. The best thing about this area that only larger vessels like our 70 ft Lady Grace are equipped to fish in these grounds and we hardly ever see another boat where we fish. Fishing off the Zutydorf Cliffs are truly amazing and not only is the fishing epic but also the abundant marine life such as the whales make this trip truly a trip of a lifetime.

You have probably heard about the fishing regulations, but just to clarify ,each person can take home 14 whole fish each or 20kg fillets. No fillets can be transported back through the Shark Bay marine park. While on charter your fish is kept in a ice slurry and when we return to Denham all whole fish are then taken to the filleting station at the end of the Jetty. Our highly experienced crew , especially Cookie, will fillet these fish in no time. We have found that most of the clients also like to get there hands dirty but we always keep a pair of fresh hands for the drink run! All fillets are than bagged, packed and iced up into your iceboxes , engels, or eskies. Yes we even supply all the ice for this well.

If you are flying back, we can supply foam boxes for your return flight - but please note that you will have to let us know prior to your charter so we can get them freighted to Denham or you can bring along your own.

Engels - yes we can usually provide power for your engels until you depart the next day - pre arrangement also required.

Another great thing about our Shark bay charters is the amenities which are available at our departure point in Denham. We depart from the Denham Jetty which is on the main street at Denham , which just happens to be across the road from the Pub, cafes, shops and hotel accommodation.

As we offer free overnight accommodation on the night before your charter, its part of the fun to walk across the road for your evening meal before you tuck into bed for the night to get an early start the next day to the fishing grounds. Also on the last night when we arrive back into Denham you are welcome to stay on board the Lady Grace or we can recommend some accommodation options on the main street for you as well.

If you do want to fly which only takes 1 hour, the airport is called Monkey Mia and Skippers Aviation flys from Perth 4 times a week. Yes Apache Charters can also arrange airport transfers.

Driving from Perth takes about 8-9 hours.
