Since 2001 Matt has been an active member of Marine Tourism W.A. of which now he is currently Vice President.
MTWA is the recognised peak body for the charter industry. MTWA role is to liase with Government departments such as Fisheries, Dept of Transport, Dept of Environment and Conservation, Swan River Trust and Water Police who are the government bodies that regulate the charter industry.
In particular Matt is heavily involved in Fisheries Management issues that affect the recreational sector.
In an era of ever increasing pressure on fish size and bag limit and access to the recreational fishery, Matt is always actively protecting recreational fishers rights who in turn are are customers.
Apache Charters is a family run business and all the family gets involved. Over the years on our days off, even the Mrs and the kids get to enjoy the Lady Grace and it has given our family plenty of years of fun and experiences that we will never forget.
We were lucky enough to assist Wayne the Shark Bay Ranger on releasing "Urtle the Turtle" who was nursed back to health. We released the turtle in beautiful waters of the south passage, just of Dirk Hartog Island.
